Police find man charged in 2022 rape in South Carolina

A former Northumberland man who police say skipped court on rape charges in 2022 has been found in South Carolina.

Siatar K. Creech, 36, allegedly had sex with a child under the age of 17 on multiple occasions in the town of Moreau.

Creech had been charged in September 2022 with use of a child in a sexual performance, third-degree rape and criminal sexual act. He was arraigned in Ballston Spa Village Court and released on his own recognizance.

Creech did not appear in court and last October, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

State Police found him on Tuesday in North Augusta, South Carolina with the assistance of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals. He was extradited and sent to Saratoga County Jail to await arraignment.
