Police: Corinth man sold counterfeit cell phones

A Saratoga County man is accused of selling counterfeit cell phones.

Andrew C. Mclaughlin, 21, of Corinth, posted on Facebook Marketplace that he was selling a Samsung phone. Mclaughlin agreed to meet the potential buyer at a Malta business on May 23. The phone was counterfeit and did not work, State Police said.

During the investigation, police learned that Mclaughlin sold another counterfeit phone to a buyer in Wilton on May 6.

Mclaughlin was charged with two counts of trademark counterfeiting and two counts of petit larceny. He was released on appearance tickets and is due in town courts in Corinth and Wilton on later dates.
