Storm delays opening night for Playhouse’s season
The storm on Thursday delayed opening night of the Playhouse Theater.
Thursday’s storm damaged the stage at the Washington Park Playhouse – forcing the cancellation of the opening night for “The Marvelous Wonderettes.”
Only two hours before showtime, the windstorm caused the set to come crashing down right on top of the chairs that were set up in the front row.
The spectators had not yet arrived, so no one was injured.
Crews were hard at work at daybreak Friday to repair the damage. They will be ready to open Friday.
The showtime is 7:30 p.m. and the show will be playing all weekend long.
