One of the biggest races in our area is for Albany County District Attorney.
Current District Attorney David Soares, who first won in 2004, is facing a challenge from Defense Attorney Lee Kindlon.
This is a rematch from 12 years ago when Soares defeated Kindlon.
Soares is seeking a sixth term in office. He’s faced recent criticism over a $22,000 bonus he gave to himself using state grant funds. Soares later agreed to pay the money back.
