Hearing adjourned for woman accused of dragging cop

The woman accused of dragging a Saratoga Springs cop with her car will be back in court on July 2.

The Greenfield woman accused of dragging a Saratoga Springs Police officer with a vehicle will be back in court on July 2. Theresa Travis was scheduled to be in Saratoga Springs City Court on Monday, but her appearance was adjourned.

Travis, 34, is accused of striking Sgt. Adam Dingmon around 2:45 p.m. on June 18. It happened at the intersection of Hayes and Geyser roads, investigators said. Dingmon was attempting to reach inside the vehicle during a traffic stop when she allegedly took off.

Police found Travis in Warrensburg later that day. Her car was captured on video at the McDonald’s off Exit 23. She had walked away from the area. Police knew Travis had a relative in that area.

She was charged with assault and reckless endangerment.

Dingmon was treated and released from the hospital and will be recovering at home for a while.
