Two people charged in Lee home invasion
Two Berkshire County residents have been arrested in connection with a home invasion in Lee.
K’Aunte Carnute, 23, of Pittsfield, and an unidentified juvenile are accused of entering a residence on Main Street on June 25 threatening the resident with a gun. They were looking to take specific items, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.
The suspects left before officers arrived. They knew the victim and the attack was not random, police said. No one was injured.
Carnute was charged with home invasion, armed robbery and witness intimidation. He was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court on a probation violation for his May 6 convictions on assault and battery, assault and battery on a family member and possession of a class D substance.
Carnute is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on the new charges. He is being held without bail at the Berkshire House of Corrections.
Police did not release more information about the juvenile.
