Pedestrian killed in Clifton Park identified

State Police have identified the pedestrian struck and killed in Clifton Park on Wednesday.

Christopher E. Merritt, 41, of Spring Hill, Florida, was not in a crosswalk when he was walking across the road. He was struck by two vehicles traveling east, State Police said.

The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 146 and Route 9.

Both drivers stopped and called 911, investigators said. Merritt died at the scene.

The crash investigation continues.
