Troy seeks new city comptroller amid abrupt departure
Troy City Comptroller Dylan Spring has stepped down.
Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello hired Spring on Feb. 12, according to the Times Union.
"We must preserve the strong financial foundation built under Mayor (Patrick) Madden during the previous eight years. Math is not political, and neither should the city comptroller," Council President Sue Steele said in a statement last night.

“We must preserve the strong financial foundation built under Mayor (Patrick) Madden during the previous eight years. Math is not political, and neither should the city comptroller,” Council President Sue Steele said in a statement last night. “It’s concerning the administration is signaling their desire to hire someone with political experience equal to municipal finance experience.”
The search for a new city comptroller is now underway.
