Police seek leads in 36-year-old cold case in Saratoga County
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in a 36-year-old cold case.
Pamela Ann Devizzio, 28, was last seen leaving a bar on Caroline Street around 4 a.m. on July 5, 1988. Investigators believe she was headed for her apartment on Court Street, but never made it.
She failed to show up to work at Mangino’s Restaurant on Saratoga Lake and was reported missing to the Saratoga Springs Police Department.
She was found dead on the side of Putnam Road in the town of Northumberland the following day by a passing truck driver, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Police believe she was dead about 30 hours before she was discovered.
Devizzio was only partially clothed and had injuries from blunt force trauma, according to investigators.
The location was a short drive from apartments she once lived in. There was evidence she tried to fight off her attacker.
Police believe that Devizzio knew her killer.
Devizzio was known to frequent the downtown Saratoga Springs bar district and was closely associated with other employees in the food and drink industry, according to police.
