‘Inconsistent statements’ lead to more prison time for Albany man
An Albany man has received more prison time for statements he made pending sentencing.
Lee Childs had admitted in Albany County Court in March to having an illegal loaded firearm. He was arrested in June 2023 on 1st Street in Albany.
Childs was set to be sentenced to 8 years in prison as part of the plea deal. However, he got 10 years because of what the Albany County District Attorney’s Office called “inconsistent statements” during his pre-sentence report.
Childs also must serve 5 years of post-release supervision.
