A Pittsfield man is in custody, accused of severely hurting his 2-month-old baby.

NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle report 28-year-old Avery Pollock claimed his baby fell off the bed, this past March. They say it caused the baby to suffer severe bleeding and bruising to the brain, experiencing multiple types of hemorrhaging.

The paper reports it happened while Pollock was watching over the child while her mother stepped out to pick up the couple’s other children at daycare.

Massachusetts’ Department of Children & Families took custody of the couple’s other three kids.

The judge says Pollock is a flight risk – holding him on $100,000 bail.
