Rally protests rent increases at Albany apartment complex
More than 50 residents at the Danker Village apartments in Albany held a march and rally on Sunday to protest rent increases that range as high as $600 per month.
United Tenants of Albany Inc. said tenants at the 223-unit complex located on Lincoln Avenue are seeing an increase of $200 to $600 per month – while dealing with deteriorating conditions.
Renters say Cass Hill Development, which bought the complex back in August, have ignored demands from residents not only to keep rent low but manage pest control problems.
The Times Union first reported the story.
