Adjust child’s sleep schedule to prepare for school

With the first day of school just around the corner, now is the time to adjust your child’s sleep schedule.

Poor sleep can impact a child’s performance in the classroom and playing sports. A sleep specialist at the Cleveland Clinic recommends trying to bump up their bedtime by an hour each week until school starts.

Melatonin supplements can be helpful if your child is having a hard time adjusting to their new bedtime. However, they should be used on a temporary basis.
