Man charged with felony DWI after Greenfield crash

A Middle Grove resident was charged with driving while intoxicated following a rollover crash earlier this month.

State Police responded to Lake Desolation Road in Greenfield just after 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 5. The driver, 42-year-old Clinton H. Waddell, was not injured.

Waddell was taken to the State Police Wilton station, where police said he recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.14%. The legal limit is 0.08%.

The DWI charge was upgraded to a felony because he has a previous conviction within the last 10 years.

Waddell was released on appearance tickets and is due in Greenfield Town Court on Aug. 21.
