Local Democrats in Chicago for convention

Mayor Kathy Sheehan talks about the message the convention.

Many local elected officials are in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan spoke with NewsChannel 13 via Zoom and said it was heartwarming to see every person in the entire arena on Monday on their feet cheering for President Joe Biden and the work he has done as president. However, she said the Democrats have more work to do.

“We know prices are still too high. We know that there are still too many people struggling to access health care and child care. But those are things that we have a great record on, and we’re going to run on that and continue the path that we’re on and finish this business of moving our country forward and in the right direction,” she said.

While the convention is going on, former President Donald Trump is busy making stops in battleground states. He’s in the Midwest on Tuesday night, visiting parts of Michigan including Detroit in his busiest stretch of campaigning.
