The Business Council of New York state says they’ve had a positive experience with Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, and they’re excited to see what her business perspective brings as she takes the top job.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan has spent several years working alongside Hochul on the Regional Economic Development Council, and she says she’s been a great resource.
"When she’s spoken at our events, she knows, she does her homework. She comes prepared. So she knows where businesses are struggling. She hears it when she goes into the districts," said Pat Bailey, the Director of Communications for the Business Council of New York State. "She knows where businesses are struggling. She hears it when she goes into the districts."
As a Buffalo native, she’s also got a good understanding of what upstate businesses need.
"She’s very familiar with our small businesses, with our not-for-profits and with what is really going on, not just in the city of Albany, but in the Capital Region," said Sheehan.
