Police: Troy man cashed fraudulent check

State Police arrested a Troy man for allegedly cashing a fraudulent check, stealing $3,000.

Prince M. Wadjas, 22, is accused of intercepting a check that had been altered. He then cashed it at a financial institution in East Greenbush, police said.

The business from Saratoga County that issued the check contacted State Police.

Wadjas turned himself in. He was charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument.

Wadjas was released on an appearance ticket and is due in East Greenbush Town Court on Sept. 12.
