Gov. Kathy Hochul has skin cancer.

Hochul made the announcement during a press conference in New York City, according to WGRZ, the NBC station in her hometown of Buffalo.

The cancer was found during a routine checkup, the governor said. It’s a tiny speck on her nose that will be removed with local anesthesia on Friday, she said.

Hochul is reminding people to use sunscreen to stay protected.
