The Shaker Heritage Society is being awarded a $50,000 state grant, Assemblymember Phil Steck said.
The money will go toward updating the society’s exhibit room and developing a new plan for the museum’s educational programming.
The new space will have hands-on activities, authentic Shaker objects, and interactive technology, Steck said.
The goal is to create an accessible experience, and preserve the history of the Shakers, he said.
