Gov. Kathy Hochul is announcing new resources to help New Yorkers find careers in state service.

Thousands of openings are available right now.

The New York State Department of Civil Service is teaming with the Department of Labor to showcase some of the openings inside career centers statewide.

The governor said it’s been a priority of hers to support the existing state workforce and bolster their ranks.

State lawmakers are excited about it.

“Whether you’re just helping somebody navigate the unemployment system or navigate other benefits that they may be eligible for, these are jobs that really have value every day. My office is reaching out to one of the state agencies,” said Assemblywoman Pat Fahy.

The Center for Careers in Government in Albany is one of 10 facilities throughout New York state where staff collaborate to provide support to assist jobseekers.
