Price Chopper/Market 32 to introduce new tech to scan aisles to check for out of stock items and pricing discrpenacies.

Price Chopper/Market 32 will soon be the first grocer in the country to use cutting-edge technology.

The company is launching a pilot program featuring the Tally robot. It’s designed by Simbe Robotics. Tally will autonomously navigate store aisles up to three times a day scanning shelves to identify out-of-stock items and pricing discrepancies, which will allow store teams to address issues more quickly and efficiently.

Northeast Grocery, which is the parent company of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Friendly Markets is the first retail grocery chain to utilize this technology.

The pilot program is set to run from this September through January 2025. It will be used in 10 stores including the Price Chopper/Market 32 locations in East Greenbush, Catskill, Amsterdam, Johnstown and Queensbury.
