One-hundred cyclists in Halfmoon do 100-mile Ride for Missing Children

Known families speak out at the Ride for Missing Children

The annual ride for missing Children kicked off this morning. That's the 100-mile bike ride to raise awareness about missing children's cases and funds to help search for them.

One-hundred bike riders met at the Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon on Friday morning to kick off the annual Ride for Missing Children.

The ride raises awareness about missing children’s cases, where bicyclists travel through Saratoga County, making stops at schools.

The journey itself is 100 miles, but the reasons people came together today exceed that number by a multitude.

The tradition started 30 years ago. Riders will stop by schools along the way to talk with kids and take pictures as well as sign jerseys. Participants will also ride by other schools as they teach students about child safety and abduction prevention.

The group taught the kids the important message of child safety and abduction prevention. However, they also had some fun dance moves along the way.

This is one of the most important things they do all year, riders said.
