Tunnel to Towers 5K to benefit Nick Georgeadis happening Sunday in Lake George

This past week, we brought you the story of Nick Georgeadis and his heroic acts on the job as a senior investigator, who lost his battle to a 9/11-related cancer last year.

On Sunday morning, you can support his family and honor his legacy at the Tunnel to Towers Foundation fundraiser in Lake George, starting at 10 a.m.

The fundraiser is at Charles R. Wood Park, located at 17 W Brook Road. You can register for the walk here.

His family shared his story with NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland for the latest recording of the UpBeat podcast from Kelly’s Angels.

They talked about his heroics on the job. That included pulling a man from a car before it exploded.

Georgeadis was also a hero dad to his three kids.

When he was dying, he wrote letters to all of his family, asking that they open them and read them on birthdays and other important milestones for years to come.
His father framed his letter and reads it every day.

Georgeadis’s family is honoring his legacy with a fundraiser this weekend to benefit Tunnel to Towers. It’s a 5K run/walk at Charles R. Wood Park in Lake George. Registration is at 9 a.m. The run starts at 10.

You can learn more about Georgeadis in Mark Mulholland’s “The UpBeat” podcast.
