Bob Diekel coached Whitehall wrestlers to great success on and off the mat. He was in the corner for more than 45 Section 2 champions – huge honors for a small school.

Coach Diekel always carried himself with dignity and demanded the same of his athletes.

Grateful families threw a surprise retirement party this past weekend, with many of his former wrestlers in attendance.

Diekel spent a total of 47 years coaching.
