Police: Fort Ann man hit, choked person
A Fort Ann man is accused of hitting and choking a person.
New York State Police responded to a report of a person seeking help on September 28 around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Sky Parlor Way in Salem. Jefferey G. Dickinson, 36, is accused of striking the victim multiple times and obstructing their breathing.
The victim got away and requested help from a Good Samaritan, who contacted police. Dickinson left before police arrived.
Police searched the immediate area but did not find him. He was located the next day in Hartford.
Dickinson allegedly violated an order of protection barring him from having contact with the victim.
He was charged with aggravated criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, third-degree and criminal obstruction of breathing. He was turned over to the Washington County Jail to await arraignment.
