Fans believe Rose deserves entry into Hall of Fame

Baseball great Pete Rose was a legend on the baseball field.

Rose is the all-time hit king, won three World Series titles, MVP and Rookie of the Year.

He was denied entry to the Hall of Fame after then-MLB Commissioner A. Bartlett Giamatti handed down a lifetime ban for Rose betting on baseball.

However, some fans who spoke to NewsChannel 13’s Dan Levy believes that it may be time to revisit that decision in the wake of Rose’s death at the age of 83.

He busted his butt clearly every day,” said Thomas O’Brien.

“That guy ran around the field and was Mr. Spirit, and he just ‘rah rah rah,” and it was a great game,” said Frank Alexander of Florida.

Fans don’t think he should be kept out of the Hall of Fame.

“They gave him a death sentence. He might deserve punishment. He didn’t deserve a death sentence,” said Jerry Chambers.
