Police: Albany woman smashed Central Avenue businesses

A 28-year-old Albany woman is accused of smashing windows with a hammer at 10 businesses on Central Avenue. Albany Police responded to the area of Central Avenue and Ontario Street just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 for a report of a woman smashing windows along the 300 block of Central Avenue. Police found the suspect, Sarah Magner, in the area of Central Avenue and Patridge Street and arrested her.

A 28-year-old Albany woman is accused of smashing windows with a hammer at 10 businesses on Central Avenue.

Albany Police responded to the area of Central Avenue and Ontario Street just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 for a report of a woman smashing windows along the 300 block of Central Avenue.

Police found the suspect, Sarah Magner, in the area of Central Avenue and Patridge Street and arrested her. 

The following businesses were targeted, according to police:

  • New Yorker Pizzeria and Fried Chicken, 328 Central Ave.
  • Heaven on Earth, 330 Central Ave.
  • Nail Top, 334 Central Ave.
  • Ichiban, 338 Central Ave.
  • Sheba al-yemen, 340 Central Ave.
  • Lucky Tattoo, 344 Central Avenue
  • Dripeez Smoke Shop, 346 Central Ave.
  • Club Phoenix, 348 Central Ave.
  • Capital Area Peer Services, 352 Central Ave.
  • Watkins Spring CO., 372 Central Ave.

Magner has been charged with seven counts criminal mischief. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Thursday morning.
