The Provosts say their son, Dan, was bright, funny and polite. He was a Scout, loved hiking and hoped to one dayake over the family business.
But after surgery, he became addicted. He died of an overdose in 2014 at just 23.
A Saratoga Springs family who lost their son to overdose as made it their mission to prevent others from suffering as they did.

The Provosts said their son, Dan, was bright, funny and polite. He was a Scout, loved hiking and hoped to one day take over the family business.
However, he became addicted after surgery. He died of an overdose in 2014 at just 23.
The seventh annual Dan Provost Memorial Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at Gavin Park in Wilton.
Over the past six years, the walk has raised $95,000 to fund recovery programs in the Capital District.
