Four arrested in North Adams on drug-related charges

The North Adams Police Department reports there were four arrests made on Thursday, all having to do with drug-related findings.

Police say members of their Detective Unit had executed a search warrant at a residence in North Adams being used for narcotics distribution.

During the search, investigators say they seized crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging material, and US currency related to illegal narcotics sales. Police say they arrested one male from the investigation and charged him with possession with intent to distribute a class B substance.

Police said later on in the day, the Detective Unit conducted a motor vehicle stop, which came to a stop over the city line in Adams.

The operator of the vehicle had a suspended license and was arrested, said police.

North Adams Police said due to observations made by the investigators on scene, there was probable cause to search the vehicle and the other two occupants of the vehicle.

Investigators say they found crack cocaine, heroin, pills believed to contain fentanyl, digital scales, packaging materials, and US currency related to illegal narcotics sales. Police say this was unrelated to the search warrant conducted earlier in the day.

North Adams Police say they arrested all three males from the vehicle, all from Pittsfield, and made the following charges:

• Operating after suspension (the driver)
• Possession with intent to distribute a class B substance
• Two counts of possession of a class A substance
• Conspiracy
