A passerby is credited with helping a person escape a fire in Rensselaer County.

The fire broke out around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening at 315 Fogarty Road in Speigletown.

A person driving by noticed the window on fire, according to the fire department.

The fire was contained to one room.

The cause is under investigation.
