Brunswick assistant fire chief to be laid to rest

A funeral for the Brunswick assistant fire chief who died after a cancer battle will take place on Thursday.

Dave Plew died on Saturday, Oct. 5 of Stage 4 kidney cancer. NewsChannel 13 profiled his son Matt Plew’s, push to get early cancer screenings for firefighters.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 416 Third St. in Troy on Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

The family is requesting memorial contributions be sent to Brusnwick No. 1 Volunteer Fire Company, 566 Hoosick Road, Troy, 12180.
