Hochul deploys 65 National Guard members to assist in hurricane response

Sixty-five New York National Guard soldiers and airmen are heading to Florida to assist in the response to Hurricane Milton.

The New York Army National Guard will deploy 41 soldiers from the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Syracuse, and the New York National Guard will deploy 24 Airmen from the 106th Rescue Wing based on Long Island.

They are EMTs with extensive training involving parachuting, scuba diving and survival skills.
