Catskill Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed a dog and then left the scene.

It happened on Oct. 10 at about 6:08 p.m. Police said a blueish colored Kia Sportage hit the dog named “Rocky” at the corner of Thompson and Main Street in the village of Catskill.

Rocky had escaped from a residence, where he was being watched, and ran into the road, police said. 

Rocky was taken to Ulster Animal Hospital, where he had to be euthanized due to the severity of his injuries.

The driver is urged to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Catskill Police Department at 518-943-2244.
