Saratoga Springs business owners air grievances to mayor about paid parking
There is an ongoing parking dilemma in Saratoga Springs. Dozens of determined business owners walked into City Hall on Friday morning to air their grievances on the issue with the mayor.
Business owners up and down Broadway in Saratoga Springs are saying while the city might be making money on parking garage fees, their stores are not.
When the city implemented their paid parking initiative this past summer, business owners said they saw a sharp decline in foot traffic and revenue.
Roughly two-dozen of them met with Mayor John Safford on Friday to discuss their concerns.
The mayor told the business owners he wants to try it for another year. However, another summer season losing money doesn’t sit well with those business owners.
