Berkshire County man gets up to 5 years in prison for assaulting 2-year-old

A Berkshire County man was sentenced to 4 to 5 years in prison after being convicted of assaulting a 2-year-old child.

Michael Langlois III, of Adams, was found guilty of assault and battery on a child causing substantial bodily injury and reckless endangerment of a child.

Prosecutors said that Langlois became angry with a 2-year-old child in his car and squeezed her, causing internal injuries, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.

Langlois waived is right to a jury trial and opted to have Judge Maureen Hogan decide his fate, the paper reported.

He must serve 3 years of probation after his prison term and participate in substance abuse counseling and anger management sessions as part of his probation.
