Man accused of drunken driving, crashing truck into reservoir

Police said a man with 26 license suspensions drove drunk and crashed his truck into a reservoir in the town of Coeymans. Deputies then saw a man walking down the road wearing wet clothes. He was identified as Ethan Rose, 20, who is from the village of Evans Mills in Jefferson County.

Police said a man with 26 license suspensions drove drunk and crashed his truck into a reservoir in the town of Coeymans.

Deputies on patrol spotted debris in the road around 2:15 a.m. Thursday in the area of Route 32 and Route 143 East. As they removed the debris, they noticed damage to the guard rail by the Alcove Reservoir and a completely submerged Ford F-150 under water as well as an ATV, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies then saw a man walking down the road wearing wet clothes. He was identified as Ethan Rose, 20, who is from the village of Evans Mills in Jefferson County.

Rose had signs of intoxication. His license was suspended on 10 different dates, police said.

He was charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while ability impaired and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs.

He was released on appearance tickets and due in Coeymans Town Court on Nov. 21.
