Albany man accused of distributing fake license plates

A 63-year-old Albany man for allegedly distributing fake license plates. Wayne F. Holmes was arrested after a monthlong investigation that stemmed from a traffic stop in the city of Albany. A search of Holme's residence on Krumkill Road found fictitious New York, New Jersey and Texas temporary license plates with matching registrations, the Albany County Sheriff's Office said.

Wayne F. Holmes was arrested after a monthlong investigation that stemmed from a traffic stop in the city of Albany. A search of Holmes’ residence on Krumkill Road found fictitious New York, New Jersey and Texas temporary license plates with matching registrations, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office said.

Holmes was charged with one count of forgery, seven counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and a traffic violation. He was taken to Albany County Jail pending arraignment.

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles assisted in the investigation.
