Fire displaces Fort Ann family, kills 2 pets

A Washington County family of four is without a home after a fire that also killed two pets.

The fire broke out at a house at 76 Morgans Lane in Fort Ann on Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the fire. The cause is under investigation, but it is considered accidental, according to Washington County Fire Coordinator Glenn Bristol.

Two pets died in the fire and two others are receiving medical treatment.

The Red Cross is helping the family.

A GoFundMe has been started to assist the family with rebuilding the home and paying for veterinary bills.
