Police: Mechanicville man drove drunk with child in the vehicle

State Police have arrested a Mechanicville man for allegedly driving drunk with a child in the vehicle.

Mark D. Knickerbocker, 40, was stopped by troopers on Saratoga Avenue in Waterford on Oct. 18 for a traffic violation. He allegedly was intoxicated. There was a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle.

Knickerbocker recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.9%. The legal limit for blood alcohol level in New York is 0.08.

Knickerbocker was charged with felony DWI, endangering the welfare of a child and other traffic violations. He is due in Waterford Town Court on Nov. 14.

The child was turned over to a family member.
