Two teens were arrested after an incident in which an officer was nearly struck with a stolen truck.

The incident started around 10:40 a.m. Friday. An officer saw a blue 2018 Ford F150 traveling south on Route 9 in Lake George just south of Diamont Point Road, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. He confirmed that the license plate matched a vehicle reported stolen in Washington County.

The officer attempted to pull over the truck, but the driver refused to comply. Another officer deployed “stop sticks” in the area of Route 9 and Hubble Lane. The 15-year-old driver intentionally tried to strike the officer with the vehicle, but both right side tires were punctured. The truck continued and eventually pulled into the parking lot of Shoreline Boat Sales.

The driver and 17-year-old passenger were arrested. The 15-year-old was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, attempted assault, unlawful fleeing, reckless endangerment and multiple traffic citations. The 17-year-old was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and also had a warrant out of Albany County.

Both were scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon in Warren County Family Court.
