A record number of Americans died of drug overdoses last year as pandemic lockdowns made getting treatment difficult.
U.S. deaths from drug overdoses went up nearly 30% to more than 93,000.
The Capital Region saw an increase as well.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is out with a new dashboard that will show overdose trends in the county. The county saw 32 overdoses this year.
Hudson Falls had the most cases. Six people died.
Albany County is reporting 19 overdoses over the weekend. Sheriff Craig Apple says that’s a big jump from previous weeks.
Apple is asking anyone who needs help to contact the Office of Addiction Services.
