A traditional election eve spaghetti dinner took place at the Italian Community Center in Troy on Monday.

This dinner has been going on for more than 50 years the day before the election, and some people have been going since the very beginning.

About 120 pounds of spaghetti was being cooked, according to one organizer.

For $15, there was spaghetti and meatballs with salad, bread and dessert. All profits were donated to different organizations, including the Italian Community Center, Street Warriors, and the Troy Youth Association.

The tradition includes both Republicans and Democrats.

Hear from one former congressman as he talks about how people from both parties all unite at this dinner, by watching the video of Zach Richters story.
