Schumer, Hochul set aside $140M for high-speed internet

Schumer, Hochul set aside $140M for high-speed internet. Schoharie County is getting a $30 million of that funding.

More than $140 million is going towards expanding high-speed internet to more than 60,000 homes and businesses, U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer and Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday.

Access to high-speed internet is not a luxury, but a necessity, Schumer said.

The largest sum of money is going to Schoharie County, which will get $30 million to go toward constructing fiber to connect thousands of locations.
