Albany VA resident, 86, admits to groping student nurse

An 86-year-old man has admitted to groping a nursing student while at the Albany VA.

Danning Lake, of Scotia, pleaded guilty on Monday to abusive sexual contact. He admitted that he grabbed the breast of a nursing student as she was giving him medical care. Lake asked her “did you like that?” and told her “they feel nice,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Lake told a VA police officer that he would do the same thing again if given the opportunity. His mental capacity was not altered by medication, age or illness, according to prosecutors.

Lake is scheduled to be sentenced on March 20. He faces up to 2 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and up to one year of post-release supervision.
