Two hurt in Albany fire at vacant building

Two people, including a firefighter, had minor injuries after an Albany fire.

Firefighters responded to a vacant building at 26 Bassett St. just after 3:30 p.m. The fire was in the basement and had spread to the first floor, according to Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory.

The fire was under control in less than 20 minutes, Gregory said.

The firefighter was treated and released from a local hospital. The civilian was treated at the scene.

The cause is under investigation.
