Traffic stop leads to weapons possession charges in Albany

A traffic stop led to two Albany men charged with weapons possession.

Luis Morales, 41, and Jayson Cruz, 36, were stopped in the 300 block of Clinton Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation.

Police found a loaded gun in the vehicle, they said.

Morales and Cruz were charged with criminal possession of a firearm, while Cruz faces another charge for criminal possession of a weapon.

Morales was released pending a future court appearance. Cruz was released on probation.
