DEC: Rain suppresses Jennings Creek wildfire, remains 90% contained

Rain is helping prevent further spread of the Jennings Creek wildfire.

The Department of Environmental Conservation reports that the fire is 90% contained and 80% controlled.

It has burned more than 5,300 acres across New York and New Jersey.

The fire is located primarily in the Sterling Forest State Park and is boxed in by fire lines.
