Police: Florida man had guns in vehicle at Naval nuclear lab in Saratoga County

A Florida man is accusing having guns in his vehicle at the Naval nuclear laboratory in Saratoga County.

Troopers responded to the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site in Milton around 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 20 for a report of weapons found during a routine security inspection.

State Police said Rolando M. Perez-Ruiz, 33, of Odessa, had multiple guns, gun parts, illegal high-capacity magazines and ammunition in the vehicle on the property. Perez-Ruiz works for a private transportation company and was at the facility to pick up a delivery, police said.

He did not display any weapons.

Perez-Ruiz was charged with eight counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Milton Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond or $250,000 partially secured bond.
