Gaming commission: No lottery tickets for children
The New York State Gambling Commission is warning people that scratch-off tickets are not appropriate gifts for kids.
The New York Gaming Commission is reminding people that lottery and scratch-off tickets are not appropriate gifts for anyone under the age of 18.
Research shows that the earlier a person starts gambling, the more likely they are able to develop a gambling problem, the commission said.
“New York Lottery games are intended to provide responsible fun and entertainment for adults – not kids,” said Gaming Commission Chair Brian O’Dwyer.
