One man is in the hospital after an overnight shootout with police in Troy. So far, police tell us they saw a man with a gun near this area at 10th Street and Jacob Street around midnight. 

Officers said he ran away when they talked with that man. According to Troy Police, they later saw the man lying on the ground when they told him to stay still. That’s when he allegedly shot at those officers. Troy police confirmed they returned fire and hit the suspect, but no officers were shot. 

Troy firefighters helped provide treatment before the man was taken to the hospital, where he is now in critical condition. 

According to police officials, body cameras did capture the shooting. But so far, there’s no word on charges for the suspect. Troy police are asking anyone with additional information about this case to call the department.
